Plant Department of Hungarian Fire Fighting Association Held Section Meeting
16/17 November 2006
Management of Plant Section of the National Association of Plant and Volunteer Fire Departments (LÖTOSZ) and Plant Department of the Hungarian Fire Fighting Association (MTSZ) held a joint meeting in Paks, 16/17 November 2006.
Professionals from priority plants of Hungary were present. The participants paid a visit to the Visitor Centre, plant area and Fire Brigade of Paks Nuclear Power Plant Zrt.
Vice Chairman of LÖTOSZ, Head of Plant Department of MTSZ Fire Chief Péter Bőhm addressed the meeting on the Fire Brigade’s premises, talking about training and work of Nuclear Power Plant firemen, functions of the performance appraisal scheme in place, the role of ISO Quality Management System in the Fire Brigade’s work, as well as setting and regulating the application criteria. At the end of his speech, the participants visited barracks, engines and equipment.
Professional work started afternoon on 16 November. A series of topics, the implementation of which would be a great contribution to improving the overall situation and working conditions of the plant and volunteer fire departments, were discussed in the 2-day meeting
Let’s take some of the topics discussed: benefits payable to staff members of full-time plant fire departments, exemption from weight tax, the use of various distinctive signs, overview of technical means, aptitude tests, amendment to the Government Decree on plant fire departments, etc.
At the end of the meeting, Chairman of LÖTOSZ István Gombor expressed his thanks for the participants’ work and requested every one of them to implement the programme set out in the Action Plan.
