The ATOMIX Ltd. Security Unit of the Nuclear Power Plant Security Service has introduced a Quality control system in physical protection. The system meets the requirements of MSZ EN ISO 9001:2001standard, which has been verified by the Hungarian Board of Standards in a certificate. The certificate was handed on 1st February, in ASE Restaurant, Paks with all due ceremony.
All participants present at the programme were greeted by Csaba Szinger, managing director of ATOMIX Ltd. He emphasised what a great step it meant for them to get the Security Unit I50 certificate. The Fire Service Department also of high standard of performance has been operating under the ISO certificate for the second year. He informed all those present about the great achievements of the ATOMIX Ltd. in 2001, too.
On behalf of the certifying company, the Hungarian Board of Standards, György Pónyai, managing director greeted all the participants and handed the certificate to the ATOMIX Ltd. Security Unit. So far many companies in Paks have been given the ISO certificate, which shows Paks has committed itself seriously to quality control approach. Then he spoke about the essential elements of the certifying process. Auditors examine the companies according to the requirements of ISO 9001 standard. The companies ought to meet the requirements of the obtained certificate continuously, and renew the certificate from time to time. The certificate verifies that the company tries to satisfy the customers' demands, its managers are committed to quality control, employees feel responsibility for effective operation and the company works hard to improve its performance.
The ATOMIX Ltd. received two certificates from the MSZT (Hungarian Board of Standards). One of them was in Hungarian the second one was issued by the international qualifying organisation, IQ NET. This kind of certificate can be found besides Japanese, English and American enterprises at several Asian and European companies. The issued certificate is accepted in 30 countries, and acknowledged all over the world. Everybody should be proud who has been awarded the certificate so should the ATOMIX Ltd. Security Unit be in Paks.
Sándor Szucsán, director of the Security Division congratulated ATOMIX Ltd. on its success and underlined the importance of the Security Unit work. Obtaining the certificate means also that the Security Unit wishes to fit in the high standard quality control requirements characteristic of nuclear energetics. The peculiarity of the ATOMIX security guards' work is that they are there at all entry posts this way they are the first who the visitors to the power plant get in direct contact with, who the employees meet every day. Therefore it is extremely important how they perform the examination, what impression they make and of course, the ATOMIX Ltd. also does everything, tries to satisfy all the demands of the law and the customers in the interest of the successful operation.
Sándor Szucsán: - I consider the certificate very important from several points of view concerning the physical protection. During the certifying process the Security Unit was inspected, organisational, procedural, and operational modifications were made. I'm very proud of the security guards, who gave correct answers during the interviews, proved their preparedness. The nuclear power plant acknowledges the importance of their work, which becomes apparent, on the one hand that the job is assigned to the ATOMIX LTD as a reliable, steady partner, on the other hand the power plant management creates the conditions to keep the employees committed to the power plant.
- We congratulate all the Safety Service employees and wish success in their work.
