The
fire service of the nuclear power plant won the national
first aid competition for the third time. Five firemen
will represent Hungary at the European Championship
in Austria in June.
Paks
– Zánka
The
33rd national first aid meeting and competition was
organized in Zánka, in which altogether 53 teams compared
their knowledge and preparedness in three categories:
age groups of primary- and secondary school, and adults.
Tolna County was represented by the teams Szekszárd
Primary School No. V., Illyés Gyula Grammar School of
Dombóvár and the Nuclear Power Plant Fire Service from
Paks. The competition is of ascending system, the teams
participate in town- and county rounds before. The competitors
had to cope with five theoretical exercises and practical
exercises of the same quantity, the former ones tested
the teams from Red Cross- and theoretical first aid
knowledge, during the latter ones they had to attend
injured persons. The practical and theoretical performance
were evaluated and rewarded separately. The nuclear
power plant fire service could stand on the first place
of the winner’s stand in both categories in the adults’
field, so they won the combined first place as well.
Their winning means that they will represent Hungary
in the European Championship in June, which will be
organized in Austria this time.
Members of the team: András Apró, Gábor Jákli, Frigyes
Lepp, Tamás Szabó, Ferenc Viniczai. Their preparation
was assisted by András Agócs and József Feil ambulance
officers, as well as Ferenc Bán and István Schreiner
from among the staff of the fire service of the power
plant.
It was the third winning of the team of the ATOMIX Establishment
Fire Service operating in the nuclear power plant –
although it is true that not in this composition.
