Flórián Cup

The National Competition of Service Fire Brigades was arranged in Zánka, 16 through 18 September 2005.
This year the contest of rank was patroned by Gábor Juhász, Political Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Interior (BM), dr. Attila Tatár, a Head of OKF Department of BM and Zsolt Csaba Horváth, Assistant Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Transportation. Key sponsors of the contest included several ministries and leading trade organizations.
Now, this is the 9th occasion that the Flórián Cup has been proclaimed in three events:

Mounting of small powered engine sprinkler
Mounting of articulated water jet
Relay race (7x55 meters)

24 domestic and 1 foreign teams had sent in their entry registrations, and were fighting the events of the competition through. The team from the Fire Brigade of the Nuclear Power Plant of Paks also weighed in the competition and managed to won two cups as a reward of their uncompromising efforts.
They were placed first in the relay race of 7x55 meters with a best ever time in the history of Flórián Cup, and the team was also the winner of the special prize (fair play) offered by Ret. General dr. György Bakondi.
József Szendi and István Major had trained the Power Plant’s team for the race. Fire Chief Péter Böhm, Head of the Institutional Division of the Hungarian Fire Association, awarded prizes to the place winning teams.
