The Commander was Recognized

Péter Bőhm, the commander of the Nuclear Power Plant Fire Service was promoted by Mónika Lamperth Minister of Municipalities and Regional Development to lieutenant colonel out of turn.

Péter Bőhm became the commander of the then existing plant fire brigade 17 years ago, which has become an exemplary and guiding facility service on national level in many respects under his management. The performance evaluation system they elaborated and the several novelties they introduced during several drillings have been taken over even by professional municipal and full-time facility fire services. Such include: alpine training, regular KRESZ (Highway Code) training, health maintenance and recreational programs, intermediate first aid courses, training of skilled ambulance nurses, rescue from elevators.

In 1999 the NPP Fire Service obtained ISO certificate first in the country. Apart from his work, the commander holds important to take an active part in various interest representation bodies and assumed a considerable role in establishing the Fire Fighter Association of Tolna County in the management board of which he has been a member since its foundation. He is a member of the Presidency of the National Association of Facility and Voluntary Fire Services and the President of the Facility Section of the Hungarian Fire Fighter Association.

In 1986 the Ministry of Industry recognized his work and commitment to fire protection by an Order of Labour Merit in silver. The management of the County Association awarded him a Ring of Honour in 1995 and a Medal of Honour in 1997 and he was rewarded by a Gr. Széchenyi Ödön Commemorative Plaquette in 2004 and a Diploma of Merit of the Minister of the Interior in 2005
