Ministerial Award to Mr. Bőhm

On the occasion of the St. Florian Day, Minister of Local Government Zoltán Varga granted Fire Chief Péter Böhm a CERTIFICATE of MERIT as an acknowledgement of his outstanding professional performance as the head of NPP Fire Service and a prominent figure of the National Association of Professional Factory and Municipal Fire Departments. The certificate was handed over by State Secretary István Jauernik in the name of the Minister at the national Firefighters’ Day celebration held in Kecskemét.
Péter Böhm started his employment with Paks Nuclear Power Plant as a staff member at the professional Fire Department. Then, he started heading the Plant-based Fire Service Department in 1990. In 1994, when he was in the rank of major, Fire Service and Damage Prevention Department of ATOMIX Kft. was set up under his command as the first ever private fire department in Hungary.
In the beginning, NPP Fire Service provided basic fire-fighting and technical rescue services, only. Later on, there was strong demand for taking part in the prevention of operational breakdowns, providing elevator, height and depth rescue services and participating in emergency healthcare activities. Today, Paks Nuclear Power Plant relies on firemen’s knowledge, qualifications and skills in an increasing field so now Lieut. Col. Péter Böhm is the commander of a growing portfolio of professional branches, as well.
