Summer Campers to Power Plant
A group of 37 curious children from the summer junior fire fighter camp in Bölcske visited to the Nuclear Power Plant in mid July. The 10 to 15 year-old campers were recruited from elementary and secondary schools of Encs, Siófok, Dunaszentgyörgy and, of course, from Bölcske.
‘No child found the camp boring for a single minute,’ said Mrs. Ibolya Gáborné Dánó, retired teacher of the elementary school of Bölcske, who led the camp together with camp leader Fire Lieut. János Vácz, attendant István Ferencsák from Encs and Fire Capt. Zoltán Vámosi.
The visit to the Nuclear Power Plant was a special experience for the children. Ret. Fire Col. István Csőglei, Honorary Chairman for Life of Tolna County Fire Association, guided them in the Information and Visitor Centre, also taking them to the Plant’s fire station where training executive József Tóbi welcomed the group.
The children were curious about all information and pleased to see Power Plant Fire Service vehicles and equipment. Besides professional and cultural programmes, the visit to the Nuclear Power Plant offered participants of the junior fire fighter camp lots of useful information.
