NPP Firemen’s Success On the International Arena

NPP Fire Service team also took part with success in civil protection exercise EU Carpathex 2011 held last week in Poland. Hungary delegated a small integrated rescue team of 23 made up of a well-trained technical search & rescue group, a contingency detection group and a group of 8 firemen headed by István Schreiner.

The EU-funded full-scale exercise’s main goal was to help Poland, holding the EU Presidency at present, prepare for European Football Championship 2012 to be co-hosted by Poland and Ukraine. The participants were practising how to respond in simulated exercises to a train crash in order to rescue football fans.

Another NPP Fire Service team scored four gold medals at the National Competition of Full-Time Industrial Fire Services held on Saturday.
